I just recently got diagnosed with IR thin PCOS. I have always had difficulty with a short LP but my cycles are fairly regular - day 19/20 followed by a LP of 6/7 days (crappy!) but I'm sure I've been based on temp shift, CM changes, and ovulatory pains.
I started on Metformin and I'm hoping to see some changes with an earlier and a decent LP. Just wondering if anyone else has BTDT?

I hav e PCOS and a short LP (usually 8-10 days). I think it is related but have not had that confirmed by my doctor. I also rarely ovulate on my own.

2/17/10 - First since July 2010 on 1500 mg of Metformin, but anov next cycle4/9/11 - Provera, then 1st Clomid (50mg) cycle begins! Staying on 1700mg Metformin - no O5/11 - Provera, then 100mg Clomid, 1700mg Metformin - CANCELED due to elevated estrogen and a cyst - BACK ON! Looks like I ovulated against all odds DURING AF and cyst is gone.6/11 - No response to Clomid. About to start injectables after Provera6/23/11 - First Gonal F (75Iu)/Ovidrel/IUI cycle begins - CANCELED due to cysts.6/29/11 - Ovulated right after Provera bleed AGAIN, just like in May. Cyst was a mature follicle. Now that we get lucky before starting injects/IUI.

I'm sure they're somehow related - something along the lines of estrogen imbalance and not ovulating or having a weak ovulation. I'm just really hoping that the Metformin will improve my LP ... I guess time will tell. I've been having a hard time finding any information on how cycles have been affected by taking Metformin, specifically when ovulation is already happening.
Thanks for your response, have you been taking Metformin as well?
Yes, I have been on Metformin since late January. For me, I have not seen any obvious change to my cycles. But, my RE wants me to stay on. But, I am headed towards injectables after Clomid did nothing for me. So, I hope the shots help my LP!
